Rotted or damaged tongue-and-groove and lap boards get replaced individually with matched profile and species. We match board width and reveal to the surrounding original planks, not just the species.
Rot remediation includes checking behind the board for sheathing damage before closing it back up. We probe surrounding boards beyond the visibly damaged one, since rot and pest activity often spread further than they appear.
Wood siding needs re-staining and sealing on a regular cycle to prevent moisture absorption and UV breakdown. Wood moisture content gets checked before staining, since sealing over damp wood traps moisture rather than blocking it.
This profile is popular for accent walls, gables, and full-home installs on East Setauket, NY properties. Batten width and spacing get mocked up on-site before final installation so you approve the rhythm of the pattern.
